The Chiemgauhof - a legend in transition
Our resort is growing: The Chiemgauhof is currently in its renovation and new construction phase until fall 2024.
We are already looking forward to celebrating sensational sunsets again, enjoying the view of the lake under the old trees and being able to pamper all our guests.
Here are some first impressions of what you can expect from fall 2024 onwards
Star architect Matteo Thun was won over for the project. His feeling for the essential and the unique location as well as his consistent sustainability characterise the new house.
There will be 28 rooms and suites, which will delight guests with their unique location on the shore of Lake Chiemsee with a view of the lake and mountains. The plans have been developed with great attention to detail, with sensitivity for the exposed location and with a great focus on sustainability.
A small but fine SPA area as well as an outdoor pool will provide relaxation.
Our new "Boathouse" will be the perfect venue for your events. Beach Club and the Sundowner Bar&Lounge invite you to celebrate the legendary sunset.
The Chiemgauhof will perfectly complement our resort Das Achental, whether a day at the BeachClub or an enjoyable evening in the restaurant directly at the lake.
Thanks to the good cooperation with the municipality of Übersee and the Traunstein District Office, the new Chiemgauhof will integrate perfectly into the landscape. The old tree population will be largely preserved and we are already looking forward to welcoming you back to the lake from fall 2024.
Until then, visit us at Resort Das Achental in Grassau. We are also there for you at Christmas and New Year's Eve and have interesting feel-good arrangements ready for you! Whether it's a wedding, conference, family celebration, two-star menu in our gourmet restaurant "es:senz", culinary delights in the restaurant "Weißer Hirsch" or a cosy drink at the bar ... we will be happy to spoil you!
Stay in touch with us and sign up for our newsletter! We will not only inform you about all the offers at Resort Das Achental, but we will also keep you up to date on the construction progress of the new Chiemgauhof.
(You can also reach the Chiemgauhof team as usual during the renovation phase by telephone on 08642-5490300 or by email info@chiemgauhof.com)
Foundation stone laid for the new Chiemgauhof - opening planned for fall 2024
In a prominent round, the builders Uschi and Dieter Müller were able to lay the foundation stone for the new Chiemgauhof at Lake Chiemsee together with District Administrator Siegfried Walch, Übersee Mayor Herbert Strauch as well as the Milan star architect Matteo Thun and around 50 invited guests.
The hotel is scheduled to open in the fall of 2024, thus continuing the story of the legendary Chiemgauhof at this special place on the lake. There will be 28 rooms and suites, restaurant and parlors as well as beach club with sundowner bar and lounge. The new "Bootshaus" will be the perfect setting for events and celebrations for locals and guests alike. The beer garden with its old trees and the jetty will be preserved and thus form the link between old and new.
For the project, the globally active star architect Matteo Thun could be won. His sense for the essential and the unique location as well as his consistent sustainability characterize the new house. The plans were developed with great attention to detail and sensitivity for the exposed location.
"It is important to us that the new Chiemgauhof fits into the dreamlike landscape and the Chiemsee shore. And Matteo Thun has succeeded excellently in this with his plans.
We want to give our guests in Chiemgau an unforgettable time and promote tourism in the district," emphasized Dieter Müller, owner of the resort Das Achental and the Chiemgauhof. "The Chiemgauhof will optimally complement our resort Das Achental in Grassau. There the 2-star restaurant es:senz with Edip Sigl, one of the most beautiful golf courses in the region, a large garden area, 2000 sqm SPA and wellness and here directly on the lake a special hideaway."
A special thanks was directed to Traunstein's District Administrator Siegfried Walch as well as to the municipality of Übersee with Mayor Herbert Strauch and all local councillors. Thanks to the good and constructive cooperation, the new Chiemgauhof will integrate perfectly into the landscape.
The owner family is already looking forward to enjoying the legendary sunsets at the lake again with a good glass of wine with guests and locals.
